FAQ

Why do I need TX Chrono while TFS contains all the necessary data?

TFS doesn’t support definite workflow of reporting and approving. TX Chrono requires that managers approve time of their team members. TX Chrono also provides an interface where all the tasks done by an employee during the reporting period (week by default) are displayed. The interface allows making corrections of the time spend before sending the time for approval. TX Chrono also has a number of preset reports which are absent in the Team Foudation Server by default.

What is the reporting cycle?

The default reporting cycle is a week and it could not be adjusted.

Can I create invoices using TX Chrono?

The invoicing features are not included in the functionality of this product.

Who approves the timesheets?

The approver is defined in the administrative section of the product. The approver is set up by the system administrator in accordance with the project role structure.

Are the official holidays taken into account?

The calendar of holidays is entered into the system by administrator.

What will happen if a project manager is absent? Who will approve the reported time?

By default it could be done by other person in the same role or somebody senior to project manager if confirmation hierarchy was configured properly.

Is there a possibility to modify the reports after manager’s approval?

Project Manager can unlock Timesheet at any moment on the View Timesheets page.

What kind of reports does TX Chrono have?

The predefined reports display time spent by members of a definite project team; time spent by one or several employees on all the projects he/she/they participate. You can create your own reports using MS SQL Business Intelligence and reporting services.
